2019 Reading Challenge

Hello! As you may have guessed from the title, I’m participating in one of the many reading challenges currently circulating on the internet. I’ve never done that before, partly because I never had an issue reading far more books than is probably healthy; partly because I never usually realise challenges are happening until they’re half-completed (NaNoWriMo being a perfect example of this), and partly because I never had to scramble for content other than book reviews for this blog¹.

So! I have set myself the challenge to read 50 books this year. I know a lot of people are trying to read 52 ie. one a week, but I like to set slightly lower expectations for myself². Fifty books is still pretty much one a week, but throughout the year I’ll get two weeks off. I like to think it’ll be for my birthday, or a holiday of some kind, but I’ll probably just get sick (cough, NaNoWriMo, cough).

If, for whatever reason, you’re still reading this mess of a post and would like to take up the challenge, you can follow my progress here (yes, I’ve already read a book. I am… pretty impressive).

‘One whole book,’ you’re probably thinking, ‘Slow down!’

Are you aiming to read a specific number of books this year? Have you read anything good lately? If so, feel free to comment below or get in touch via the contact link on the home page.

¹I promise that I am…mainly kidding

²Again, kidding!³
